Every Monday morning around 9am a group of dedicated parishioners gather in the rectory to count the collection and get it ready for the bank. Every week they have a grand old time celebrating birthdays, telling stories and making a deposit which is almost always correct down to the last penny. We are looking for two more volunteers to join the group. If you are interested and have the time, please either call Lauri at the rectory or see one of the priests. Thank you.

After 19 years our Religious Education Summer Program has come to an end as instructed by the Bishop. Sr. Ellen left me a wonderful program to oversee. The children, the catechists, and the helpers have made the Summer Program a whopping success. We are truly blessed to have the dedication and devotion I saw each day as our catechists prepared and taught in the classrooms. We had over 30 catechists give two weeks of their time, talent and treasure to make their classes enjoyable, educational and engaging. The parents were kind and generous. They donated a ton of food and toiletries to the Catholic Charities Fr. English Center. They arrived on time and picked up on time, which is greatly appreciated. It was delightful to get to know the parents and students a little better. PARENTS: look for an email from me in the fall. It’s a survey to see which day of the week and time works best for the 2016-17 Religious Education Program, since we will no longer be allowed to have a summer program. My door is always open, contact me at DRE@olmchurch.org. Mary Ramsden

Thank you all as another year of ventas (sales) comes to an end. This summer I am teaching a science class every Monday and Tuesday. It has been extremely rewarding and the students have really enjoyed it! I have been able to purchase many new pieces of equipment and chemicals from the sales of the clothing you bring from the OLM House of Hope. It may seem an insignificant task but look at what you help us provide for these kids! Who knows? Together we may be responsible for Inspiring a future scientist who will discover a life-saving cure!!! We each use our own talents. Thank you for your support and help every two weeks. Sincerely, Sister Christina Schoen, Martin DePorres
