For many years, OLM parishioners have been special friends to the Catholic Charities Fr. English Food Pantry in Paterson, where about 5,000 poor are helped monthly. Each week, the chili makers provide 55 pans of chili, every 4th Sun. non-perishable food is donated. Dave Puccia and the KofC run special supermarket food drives. Special thanks to parishioners who made an inner city abandoned lot become a produce garden despite many, many obstacles. Nancy Hirdt as project coordinator, Andy San Filippo as mover and shaker to get soil and make beds and Barbara Perino as Master Gardner advisor were catalysts who enabled the harvest of 700 pounds of corn, squash, tomatoes, jalapenos and more for the clients at the food pantry. We are a special giving parish, Sincerely, Ellen & Bill Sharkey
