The Vivere Christus Est Medal, a name taken from the Latin phrase, “To live is Christ,” which is found in St. Paul’s Letter to the Philippians (1:21) will be presented to Jeanne Richards at a special ceremony at St. Johns Cathedral this Sunday. This special award acknowledges on a diocesan level the value and importance of the laity. It is a token to express the gratitude and appreciation for their unselfishly giving of themselves for the building of God’s Kingdom. When asked, Jeanne said, “In my small way I have tried to be of service to our Lord in the following ways: The first and most loving way has been in caring for the purificators. As a lector in the Chapel, as a Eucharistic minister both in the chapel, and for the home bound as well as to those in hospital care at Chilton. Sharing on the RCIA team as presenter and participating in the faith sharing groups. My service at OLM parish has been both a journey of faith and has been a give and take experience.” Congratulations Jeanne, may our Lord God Bless you for all you have done for OLM Parish.
