Once again, the OLM community overwhelmingly decided to help fight hunger locally, nationally and around the world. An enthusiastic response to the “Put a Buck in the Basket for Hunger” campaign raised $2,625 due to the generosity of so many. Sincere thanks go to all who contributed, walked, and helped in so many ways.
The Christmas Giving Tree will be up in the narthex of the Church the weekend of Nov. 14th & 15th with gift tags for the children at the Fr. English Center and Martin DePorres. Your participation and generosity is much appreciated.
Mark your calendar for the Advent session that your children are required to attend. Grades 1-5 attend Sat., Nov. 14, 9-12, go directly to classrooms. Grades 6-8 attend Monday evening, 7-8:30pm in the church. Remember sports and other activities are not an excuse for not attending. You made the commitment to attend during Advent and Lent and these dates were given to you back in May 2014. We are looking forward to spending time with your children again. Eva’s Village is preparing for its largest fundraiser of the year – the Annual Visions of Hope Benefit Gala, Nov. 5. The organization is seeking item donations for its silent auction, which raises nearly $45k for its programs to assist the poor, hungry and homeless. Items such as Broadway tickets, iPads, restaurant certificates, laptops, digital cameras and tickets to sporting events are welcome. Msgr. Carroll will be back in Michigan from Monday to Friday for “continuing care” which is part of the recovery program. He will keep in touch with Fr. Lukasz and Lauri.
The Our Lady of the Magnificat Cherub Choir is made up of parish singers who are enrolled in grades 1-3. They sing at the 4:00 Mass on Christmas Eve. Rehearsals will commence on Thursday, November 5, from 4:30 – 5:15, and will continue each Thursday until Christmas Eve, with the exception of Thanksgiving. If your child a singer, then this is their ministry, and a good way to serve the Church community. It is also a good way for them to learn the traditional Christmas carols of our faith. All Souls Envelopes may be placed in the box on the table in the narthex or in the second collection on Oct. 25. Be sure to write the names of your deceased relatives and friends on the envelopes and they will be prayed for at all the November Masses. If you make a donation it goes directly to the parish.
It is a real privilege to be able to serve Mass on Sundays and on special occasions during the year. Boys and girls from the fourth grade on up are welcome. Please let Fr. Lukasz know you are interested.

Bishop Serratelli will be celebrating a Respect Life Mass on Sat., Nov. 7 at St. Ann Parish in Parsippany at 10am. Mass is sponsored by the Paterson Federation K of C Councils.
