Our Thanksgiving Food Drive is underway! Many thanks to all our CCD and Confirmation classes and families for always being so generous with donations for our annual drive. We have sent home flyers and emails to all students/families. Our collection will run until Nov. 6th & there will be boxes in the school foyer on Sun., Nov. 5th and on Mon., Nov. 6th for donations of non-perishables. Donations will be sorted, organized and distributed in a few weeks. Each year, over a dozen holiday food baskets are made and hundreds of food items are collected and delivered to the Catholic Charities Father English Center in Paterson - just in time for Thanksgiving. They are all extremely thankful for your gifts. We are always in need of donations, Stop & Shop gift cards and cards to Walmart and Target. If you are interested in being put on our "Caring List" please email Melissa Giacoio at magiacoio@yahoo.com or 973-838-2393. We will reach out to you when needs arise and also keep you up to date on what we are doing with the Caring Ministry. A huge thank you to all of our "helpers" - your continued kindness and support makes this all so special. Best wishes for a blessed Thanksgiving!
If someone has a used car which he/she might like to donate to a Deacon who will be ordained a priest by Bishop Serratelli in May, please contact Msgr. Carroll or Deacon Yohan.

The Senior Choir sings at the 11am Mass on Sundays, other holy days and special occasions. Rehearsals are Thurs. evenings from 7:30-9pm. We perform a variety of musical styles, from classical, to a cappella, to gospel, to contemporary. We are in particular need of men. As our young singers go off to college or members move away, we need to fill the empty chairs in order to maintain the caliber of singing our parish has come to expect. If you are a singer, your choir needs you. Did you sing in your high school or college choir? For more information, see Michael Pierce after Mass
Junior Choir We are looking for more Junior Choir members. Michael Pierce had the privilege of listening to many of our CCD children sing last week, and was especially heartened to hear many of the boys sing so beautifully. If your child is a singer, they belong in their parish choir. Rehearsals are held on Tuesdays from 4:30-5:30, and sing weekly at the 9:00 Mass during the school year. Cherub Choir Our Cherub Choir is made up of parish children in grades 1, 2, and 3, who sing at our 4pm Mass on Christmas Eve. Rehearsals begin on Thurs., Nov. 2nd, from 4:30-5:15, and will continue each Thurs., until Christmas Eve (No Practice on Nov. 9th and 23rd) The children will learn traditional Christian carols as well as a few special songs. We have received about 10 membership forms back from our CCD children, however we need many more! For more information, see Michael Pierce after Mass
A new season of RISE is underway and there are some vacancies for our summer mission trip. This is a great opportunity to act as God’s hands in a selfless, fun, cooperative environment. To sign up or for more info email Patrice Leavenworth at pleavenworth@shsd.org
Please place your envelope with the names of your deceased relatives and friends in the box so marked in the narthex. They will be prayed for at all Masses during November.
In Giving, We Receive Did you know that this year our Diocese had the largest number of men ordained to the priesthood in the country? There are currently over 50 men now enrolled in seminaries to prepare for priestly life in the Paterson Diocese. That is a tremendous blessing, but one that comes with a significant cost for room, board, tuition and other related expenses. Your support of the Bishop’s Annual Appeal helps meet the annual expenses for seminarian education. It is a gift that will enhance the faith life of our Diocese for years to come. Please make a pledge today! For your convenience, you can make an online gift or pledge at www.2017appeal.org. Thank you!

Parish Mission on the Gospel of Luke is coming to OLM. Entitled Luke Live – is a dramatic proclamation for people of all ages by Paulist Fr. James DiLuzio, Paulist priest, missionary and actor. Fr. James travels throughout the country with his powerful recitation of Luke’s Gospel. Don’t miss this opportunity of powerful evenings encountering the Gospel the way the early generations of Christians encountered it: stories about Jesus shared from the heart with hymns, songs and preaching. Mark your calendars - Nov. 5, 6 & 7TH at 7pm in the church. To accommodate all parishioners, there will be a morning session following the 8:15 Mass in the chapel. More details, see the website www.LukeLive.com

Next weekend is 4Get Me Not weekend. It was heartbreaking recently to step into the Fr. English Food Pantry to see so many empty shelves while about 50 people where waiting to "shop." There is a great need for canned tuna, meats, rice, dried and canned beans but any non-perishable food is welcome. Keep in mind that small packages, rather than large, can be distributed to more people. Thank you!
For his Star Service hours, Michael Hasselmann of Troop 277 in Kinnelon, developed and assembled Prayer Books for our youngest parishioners!
