Dear Msgr. Carroll & Parishioners, The staff and ladies of the Dwelling Place extend sincere gratitude to the OLM Parish Community for your generous support of Sr. Nancy’s appeal. The total collection was $5,456 and is truly a blessing for us. Thank you for your always warm hospitality and generous response. SATURDAY, JULY 15TH BISHOP SERRATELLI CELEBRANT – 5PM MASS Bishop Serratelli will make a pastoral visit to Our Lady of the Magnificat on July 15TH and will serve as the main celebrant at our 5pm Mass. All parishioners are invited to attend this Mass.
Dear OLM Parish Family: In an effort to be transparent and clear, I want to be the one to tell you last week I resigned my position at Catholic Charities after almost 19 years of service. The reason is simple: the Diocesan leadership and I were unable to reach an agreement for my continuing which I would have found fair and appropriate. As many of you know, there are times in all of our lives when we must walk away from a situation in order to maintain our integrity. This was my time. Needless to say, I wish everyone at Catholic Charities good fortune. Far more important however, I want to take this chance to AGAIN thank Msgr. Carroll and the OLM Community for your donations, good will and good words and your support over the years. OLM is truly the Catholic Charities Parish of the Diocese. No other parish contributed so much nor so consistently. The Lord says we will be judged by our generosity. In that case, OLM people will fare well on judgement day. As for me, there are plenty of things I am eager to do to contribute; and I will remain here at OLM for as long as I can and as a long as anybody finds my ministry valuable. Blessings, Fr. Ed
On July 4th, Americans in the United States celebrate their independence from tyranny. “… and the nation of the people, by the people and for the people shall not perish from the earth.” “God bless America! May your ideals always flourish.” The parish office will be closed Mon. July 3rd and Tues. July 4th.
Msgr. Carroll will be away from July 4 to July 9 but he will keep in touch. Fr. Henry will be away from July 1 to July 25. Deacon Yohan is still in Columbia waiting for his religious visa. He optimistically thinks he will have it in a couple of weeks. A little prayer might help.
Thank you to all who participated as golfers, sponsors and boosters! We had a wonderful day and this year was our most successful event ever….over $53,000 in net profit. These funds will help defray the cost of school roof repairs. Thanks again and be sure not to miss this great event next year!
