Please welcome Rev. Pappula Rao from the Diocese of Kurnool, India. He will be speaking to the OLM congregation August 26 & 27th about missionaries and their good works.

A warm welcome to the residents of St. Joseph Home for the Elderly and the Little Sisters of the Poor in Totowa as well as local seniors who will be here for lunch and bingo on Monday. The members of the Ladies Guild have planned a delicious lunch for them with ice cream supplied by Art Anastasia.

The shelves at the Fr. English Food Pantry are showing some spaces, specifically the places for dried beans, rice, canned fish and meat. Any non perishable food is welcomed to help the working poor in Paterson who depend on this pantry to feed their families. Please leave your donation in the vestibule of the Church.

Dear OLM Parishioners, Regarding the Embassy, everything moved perfectly well. The visa was approved! Now, I just have to wait for a notification from the Embassy to pick the visa up in DHL Center in Bucaramanga Colombia. The Ladies Guild Spiritual Adoption Project continues through the summer. Please place completed "mini baby blankets" in the collection box on the shelf above the coat rack in the Ryan Room. Sometimes we find out about these situations when their relatives come together with the Priest to prepare their funeral. If you could let us know about the sick a Priest or a Eucharistic minister would bring them the Sacraments.

The Parish Picnic will be on Sunday, September 10TH. It will begin with the 11am outdoor Mass followed by food, fellowship and fun and games for the children. Your ticket is to bring a dessert. The Knights of Columbus will provide the rest. Please sign up on the sheets in the narthex.

THE SPIRIT IS WILLING BUT THE FLESH IS WEAK. There are so many parishioners who have not received the Sacrament of Confirmation. This is a great opportunity for them to become fully initiated Catholics. Please encourage them to call the rectory to speak to Msgr., Fr. Lukasz or Carol Mangani. 973-838-6838. Join us on a journey of faith now is the time to complete your sacraments.

Thank you to the following volunteers who helped serve at Eva’s Kitchen on Saturday, August 5th: Kenny Mertz, Stefania Masi, Mary Smith, Bill and Ellen Sharkey, Eileen Donnelly, Cindy and Andy Boniface. In addition, thank you to the Boniface’s for their generous donation of chips and cookies and for all the volunteers who cooked the chicken casserole that helped to serve approximately 100 people.

REMINDER – PLEASE RETURN GOOD COUNSEL BABY BOTTLES BY AUGUST 12/13TH. THANK YOU!

As in the past, our water system sprung a big leak. According to the water meter in the well, we were using 25,000 gallons of water a day. Thanks to a couple of members of the building and grounds committee, the leak was found behind the convent. It is in the process of being repaired.

Msgr. Carroll will be away this week but he will return next Saturday after the 5pm Mass.
