Approximately 50,000 veterans are homeless in the United States on any given night!! OLM is partnering with Kinnelon High School's Give Back Club who has teamed up with Shelter Our Soldiers. Together they will be making 100 care packages for Homeless Veterans to let them know they are not forgotten and because, it is never too late to say, thank you! Our goal is to collect 100 blankets and 100 winter hats by December 1st. Drop new or slightly used blankets and hats At OLM Church from November 2nd thru December 1st.
Many OLM parishioners have supported the students who have participated in the Turkeys 4U organization for the past seventeen years. Thank you so much. Once again, today, we ask for your help to make a tax deductible contribution to buy turkeys and food certificates for those less fortunate. Students coordinate their efforts with William Sharkey and Roger Huss from OLM and the Montville UNICO Foundation, a not-for-profit organization, and deliver turkeys to Father English Center, Kinnelon Health Department, Interfaith Food Pantry, the Boy Scouts and individual families in need. Last year 810 turkeys (9888 pounds) and food certificates were delivered to the working poor and needy. More than half of the turkeys were delivered to the Father English Center because of your kindness. If you are able, please contribute when you attend Mass on Nov. 9 or 10. If you are unable to place a donation in the basket at Mass, but would like to contribute, please write a check made out to Montville UNICO Foundation, and in the memo section state “Turkeys 4U“. Send the check to Montville UNICO Foundation, PO Box 788, Montville, New Jersey 07045. For further info call Debra Eckert-Casha at 201-694-8067.
