Dear Parish Family: My special thanks to all of you who contributed to my 3rd Annual “Pay It Forward” Concert to support the work of the Franciscan Sisters’ Dwelling Place. I have always appreciated the consistent support OLM Parishioners have given to my charity efforts over the years. OLM truly lives in light of the Gospel message about the responsibility we have to care for one another. Everyone had a wonderful time; and because of the contributed services of the artists and the extraordinarily big-heartedness of Tommy Manzo and the Brownstone, we are able to send the sisters $12,500!! Thank you and God Bless you. Fr. Ed PS The Lord has told us “seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you.” So, I am seeking and knocking: if any of you or your businesses happen to be in a luxurious financial position, would someone consider matching our donation, like they do on PBS? It would be an enormous blessing for the Sisters. Please call me, if you are interested.
The Caring Ministry is looking for a parishioner/family to oversee this ministry. What a wonderful opportunity to help others - within our local parish and nearby Catholic communities. The Caring Ministry conducts two food drives each year and works closely with the CCD/Confirmation classes and Father English Catholic Charities. Baskets are also made during Thanksgiving and Easter for neighboring families. Gifts and donations are also collected and delivered during Christmas time and we work closely with the Borough of Kinnelon. There are other opportunities to help the needy throughout the year. This ministry is perfect an individual or a family. There is continued support from the parish members which makes it so rewarding. If you and/or your family would like more info about this rewarding ministry please contact melissagiacoio@gmail.com or call 201-486-3236. They will be asking for your help in support of their works throughout the world. The Salesian Sisters are a worldwide community counting 12,545 sisters spreading the Gospel on every continent. Approx. 3,000 sisters work in mission areas affected by great poverty, disease, political unrest, violence, war and other difficult conditions such as areas of natural disaster and refugee camps.
