UPDATE: ANOTHER FAMILY HAS ADDED $1,000 TO THE MATCH…..TOTAL MATCH IS NOW $4,000. A SPECIAL Christmas fund has been established to assist parishioners who do not have the discretionary income to purchase gifts for their children at Christmas. Last year, 17 parishioners donated $9,000 which enabled us to help fourteen families and organizations. Since inception in 2017, this fund has raised and contributed over $34,000 to those in need. If you would like to contribute this year please make checks payable to OLM and note “Christmas Fund”. Either mail/drop them at the Parish office or give them to Fr. Steve. This effort is in addition to the Ladies Guild Giving Tree. A generous parishioner has volunteered to “match” up to $3,000 of what is collected by the Parish. In addition, he has challenged other parishioners to join in the matching gift portion of the program. Last year we had another parishioner take up the Matching Challenge. If you are interested in matching, please call George in the office at 973-838-6838 ext. 102. Your prayerful consideration is greatly appreciated. God Bless!

The Vivere Christus Est Medal, a name taken from the Latin phrase, “To live is Christ,” which is found in St. Paul’s Letter to the Philippians (1:21) will be presented to Jeanne Richards at a special ceremony at St. Johns Cathedral this Sunday. This special award acknowledges on a diocesan level the value and importance of the laity. It is a token to express the gratitude and appreciation for their unselfishly giving of themselves for the building of God’s Kingdom. When asked, Jeanne said, “In my small way I have tried to be of service to our Lord in the following ways: The first and most loving way has been in caring for the purificators. As a lector in the Chapel, as a Eucharistic minister both in the chapel, and for the home bound as well as to those in hospital care at Chilton. Sharing on the RCIA team as presenter and participating in the faith sharing groups. My service at OLM parish has been both a journey of faith and has been a give and take experience.” Congratulations Jeanne, may our Lord God Bless you for all you have done for OLM Parish.
The Ladies Guild is searching for photos of the Advent wreath, Nativity and the Christmas altar in both Church and Chapel. If you have photos from past years and would like to share them with the Ladies Guild for their Winter Notecards, contact Diane at jdlatt1@msn.com.
O Most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy, at this most critical time, we entrust the Untied States of America to your loving care. Most Holy Mother, we beg you to reclaim this land for the glory of your Son. Overwhelmed with the burden of the sins of our nation, we cry to you from the depths of our hearts and seek refuge in your protection. Look down with mercy upon us and touch the hearts of our people. Open our minds to the great worth of human life and to the responsibilities that accompany human freedom. Free us from the falsehoods that lead to the evil of abortion and threaten the sanctity of family life. Grant our country the wisdom to proclaim that God’s law is the foundation on which the nation was founded, and that He alone is the True Source of our cherished right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. O Merciful Mother, give us the courage to reject the culture of death and the strength to build a Culture of Life.
