Congratulations Fr. Steve on the 33rd Anniversary of your Priestly Ordination. Thank you for your many years of service to God and his people. We pray that God will continue to bless and strengthen you as you continue in the ministry entrusted to you. And, may God's goodness and kindness be with you on this special day and for many years to come.

On this Independence Day, we are reminded of all those who have sacrificed for our freedom, following the example of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Let us not take freedom, both physical and spiritual, for granted. May we always remember that freedom is purchased with a very high price! Jesus died to save us from our sins and our freedom costs others their very lives. Lord, bless all those who have served and continue to give their lives for our freedom. Bless them with favor and bounty to meet their needs and watch over their families. Amen.

A Eucharistic Congress is a privileged moment of grace in the local church. Guiding our Congress will be Archbishop Rino Fisichella. On February 11, 2022, Pope Francis wrote these words to Archbishop Fisichella regarding the Jubilee 2025. “To you, dear Brother, I entrust responsibility for finding suitable ways for the Holy Year 2025 to be planned and celebrated with deep faith, lively hope and active charity. The Dicastery charged with promoting the new evangelization can help make this season of grace a significant stimulus to the pastoral outreach of the particular Churches which are called in these years to intensify their commitment to synodality.” Led by the power of the Holy Spirit and strengthened by our Eucharistic Lord we celebrate our unity as the Body of Christ. Join Bishop Sweeney in welcoming Archbishop Fisichella who will guide us in the pastoral plan of our Holy Father toward living the Evangelii Gaudium – the joy of the Gospel. We are in need of new Eucharistic Ministers to join our team of dedicated volunteers. This ministry is one of the most spiritual ways of giving to your church community. The Msgr. John J. Carroll 2022 Scholarship in memory of Gregory Slyfield, awarded by the OLM Knights of Columbus Council 14493 was presented by Allison Slyfield on June 12 at the 11 am Mass. The recipients were Brianna Altieri and Baylie Daniels. Brianna will be attending American University and Baylie will be attending Caldwell University. We extend our congratulations to both of the recipients and wish them much success.

Members of Kinnelon volunteer Fire Company invite everyone to their annual Free Car Wash, Monday July 4th from 9:00 AM – 3 PM at Wash Hounds, 1167 Route 23 Kinnelon. All donations directly support the Kinnelon Volunteer Fire Company. Please stop by and support this worthwhile event.

We still need catechists in grades 1-6 on Monday and Sunday nights. Monday meets 4:30-5:45; Sunday meets 7-8:15 PM. This is a wonderful way to learn more about your faith. The OLM Knights of Columbus would like to sincerely thank all those who supported the Ukrainian breakfast fund-raiser.  All money that was donated will go directly to the Knights of Columbus in Poland/Ukraine for direct Ukrainian help and support.  The first $5000 collected was matched by the OLM Knights and our event generated significantly more than that amount. The Knights of Columbus care about our brothers and sisters around the world and will continue to help as we can. 

The Msgr. John Ryan Golf Outing this past week was a rousing success! Thanks to all the sponsors, golfers, supporters and a special thank you to the golf committee for their dedication to making it a wonderful day.

Lord God, We ask for your all-powerful hand to be upon all who are graduating this time of year.  Bless their lives from this day onward with goodness and love.  Help them to stay true to their dreams, to use their gifts and talents wisely, and to walk into the future with faith, hope, kindness and great love.  Amen

We are looking for individuals to join Katherine Missbrenner, Jen Portman and Diane Lattanzio in maintaining the Church and Chapel linens each week. Training will be provided. Please call the office if you would like to help out with this ministry.

Due to the unprecedented requests for assistance from Catholic Charities’ food pantries and in order to fulfill our obligations to the poor, Bishop Sweeney has authorized a Diocesan-wide food collection on the Feast of Corpus Christi. Saturday/Sunday, June 18th – June 19th OLM has been asked to collect on that weekend the following Peanut Butter, Jelly and Deodorant Monetary donations can be made directly online at www.ccpaterson.org/corpus Please mark Saturday and Sunday, June 18th and 19th on your calendars and join our parish in participating.
